I am a Rhode Island Education Senior Research Associate at Brown University's Annenberg Institute.Â
My research encompasses multiple areas of educational policy that are of practical importance to school districts and theoretical importance to the field. Using large administrative datasets, my work has examined racial and ethnic isolation among teachers, teacher commutes, and the dynamics of leadership labor markets. Other work in progress builds on QuantCrit literature to better understand how to make sense of ethnic categories for immigrant groups when conducting quantitative research.
My research agenda is tied together by a desire to bring theory to bear on practical educational problems, improve the framing of educational problems, and ultimately provide a roadmap for ensuring more equitable outcomes for students, teachers, leaders, and communities impacted by schools.
